weevi - Privacy policy

your privacy is important to us and we are committed to protecting it. this privacy policy (“policy”) was written to help you understand better how we collect, use and store your information.

By using the platform or dealing with a merchant using weevi platform, you are agreeing to the terms of this privacy policy and -as applicable- the weevi terms of service. this policy is a legally binding agreement between you (and your client, employer or another entity if you are acting on their behalf) as the user of the platform (referred to as “you” or “your”) and weevi. if we add any new features or tools to our platform, they will also be subject to this policy.

  1. At various stages throughout using our platform we collect information including, and not limited to, your name, contact details (such as telephone, mobile numbers and e-mail address) and payment information (such as credit or debit card information). 

  2. We may also collect information about your business and your clients usage of the platform and information about you from the materials (such as messages and reviews) you post to the platform and the e-mails or chats you send to us. 

  3. We may collect technical information from your or your customers’ mobile devices while you use the platform through a mobile device, for example, location data and certain characteristics of, and performance data about, your device, carrier/operating system including device and connection type, use of mobile vouchers, IP address, mobile payment methods, address book data, interaction with other retail technology such as use of NFC Tags, QR Codes.

  4. We reserve the right to use this information, not limited to, contacting you via SMS, email, Whatsapp, Post, Telephone Call at any time for reasons we see fit. 

  5. We collect information about you and your customers. We reserve the right to use this information internally but not to share this information with third parties including partner restaurants and those within the food, drink, leisure, marketing and advertising sectors. We only collect and use this information so that we can administer, support, improve and develop our business and services to you.

  6. We may use your customer’s data in the only aim to market your own store and provide you with more sales or to connect your business to complementary third party services after your consent approval. ie: logistics providers or payment providers companies

  7. Any data saved from your customer onto our platform, can be accessed and retrieved by this specific customer, though any touch point with our platform

  8. Any review or feedback you submit regarding our service can be used by us in any marketing materials. We will generally only use your first name and city of residence for this. Phone calls to and from weevi may be recorded.

  9. We reserve the right to amend the Privacy Policy at any time. Your continued use of the platform will mean that you agree to the amended Terms of Use.

  10. We take steps to protect your information against unlawful processing and damage or loss. The transmission of information is not completely secure and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to weevi, and is transmitted at your own risk.

  11. We use cookies to collect information about you and your users. Cookies are small pieces of information which are issued to your computer when you visit a website and which store and sometimes track information about your use of the platform. If you do not accept to use these cookies you will be unable to use th platform. By using our platform you consent to the use of cookies. 

  12. After you have completed signing up for the platform and depending on your location, we may create a weevi payments account on your behalf. if you activate the online payments gateway, we will collect information about your business such as address, type, id number, bank account and other government identification information. we need this information to create your payments account, provide you with the payments services and to conform to legal and regulatory requirements.

  13. We also collect personal information about your customers that they provide while shopping online or checking out, along with the information that you share with us. we use this information to improve the platform’s orders processes.
